Opening up "The Can o' Worms"

Good morning Queen Street!
I started my day with this sweet girl yawning in my face,
and ended my day with a big project...the Can o' Worms.
Soon after the radiators were removed, throughout the house, I started on the next room to be renovated. Behind the radiators multiple layers of peeling wallpaper hung just waiting for me to start picking.  And I did, and I couldn't stop.  What was supposed to be the easiest room to update became a 2 weekend project of wallpaper removal.  It was a daunting task, peeling and scraping back the layers built up since 1920.  I came to the conclusion that in the 1920's (Victorian Era) walls were all papered as a status statement, or just as common practice, because a bare room was considered poor taste.  We have more rooms with lots of wallpaper-YIKES!
The first picture gives you a glimpse of the layers and the original paper used.  As the walls were exposed the look and feel of them are much like cement, but in fairly good condition.  They are definitely solid!  I patched up where needed and look to start priming the walls for paint this weekend.
I have definitely learned my lesson with this room.
Next room, shiplap or
beadboard, anything, but no more scraping
off the old layers.
Or will I start picking again...?

I started in interior design right after I graduated college.  I was drafts person for a well know designer on the Main Line (suburb of Philadelphia) ...got married, had a couple kids, always kept myself involved within the design community. Flash forward - I am back to designing interiors. It's Good to be home again!
